New Zealand's Coalition Government plans to reverse speed limit reductions by Labour by 1 July 2025.

New Zealand's Coalition Government plans to reverse the blanket speed limit reductions by Labour by 1 July 2025, as stated in a new Land Transport Rule. The draft rule will require reversing local street, arterial road, and state highway speed limit reductions made since 1 January 2020. It proposes variable speed limits outside schools during pickup and drop-off times for local streets and rural roads, and will enable new and existing Roads of National Significance to be travelled at 110 km/h.
