Morgan Park, Baltimore's first planned Black suburb, has received a historical roadside marker. Designed in 1917 by Morgan State University's fourth president, Dr. John O. Spencer, it provided housing for Black faculty and professionals during segregation. The marker, created and installed by the Maryland Historical Trust and Maryland Department of Transportation, highlights the community's significant role in Baltimore's development.
