Irish government introduces Short-Term Tourist Letting register as part of Housing for All strategy.

The Irish government plans to tackle the shortage of long-term housing by introducing a Short-Term Tourist Letting register, as part of its Housing for All strategy. The register, which must be in place within two years, will require short-term letting property owners to register annually. However, the Irish Self-Catering Federation and other associations warn that the new legislation could threaten rural tourism and may force some businesses to close if they cannot obtain retroactive planning permission.
