The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and is seeking consensus on sustainable fuels. The ICS, representing 80% of the world's merchant fleet, is pushing for a levy on maritime greenhouse gas emissions to encourage the adoption of renewable fuels like methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, and nuclear propulsion. Chairman Emanuele Grimaldi highlighted the need for governments, producers, and the transport sector to collaborate on green energy solutions, emphasizing the need for increased supply of sustainable fuels.
