Mexico finds remains of 63 miners who died in 2006 coal mine accident in northern Mexico; 18 years later, Mexican authorities locate "first human remains" in one of the mine's chambers. The accident occurred on Feb. 19, 2006, at the Pasta de Conchos mine in Coahuila, and resulted in the deaths of 63 miners, while 8 survived with serious burns and 2 bodies were recovered. The process of locating the remaining bodies began in 2020 after President Andrés Manuel López Obrador made a promise to recover them.
