Geely and China reserve the right to challenge EU's 38% tariff increase on Chinese electric vehicles, risking a trade war.
Chinese automaker Geely expressed great disappointment in the EU's decision to increase tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, vowing to take "necessary measures" to protect its rights. Beijing's commerce ministry spokesman He Yadong said China reserves the right to file a WTO suit over the planned EU tariffs. The EU warned it would impose additional tariffs of up to 38% on Chinese electric car imports, which could provoke a trade war.
