The Pakistani government has challenged the acquittal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case at the Supreme Court. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had previously acquitted Khan and Qureshi in the case, which involved charges of misusing and misplacing a classified diplomatic document. The FIA argued that the IHC lacked jurisdiction in the case and that the judgment did not reflect any ground of acquittal.
