US Africa Command denies responsibility for the reported killing of two Cuban doctors in a US airstrike in Somalia in February, despite Al-Shabab's claims. AFRICOM confirmed conducting an airstrike near Jilib town on February 15 but denied it resulted in the doctors' deaths. The Cuban doctors, abducted by al-Shabab in 2019, were not mentioned in AFRICOM's latest quarterly civilian harm assessment.
