Texas-based Whataburger has filed a federal lawsuit against multiple North Carolina restaurants with nearly identical names, accusing them of trademark infringement. The Texas chain alleges that the North Carolina What-A-Burger #13 restaurants, controlled by Zeb Bost, sell goods and services identical or highly related to Whataburger's offerings. Whataburger has a federal trademark that prohibits others from using confusingly similar names.
