Popular Lake Tahoe beach, Sand Harbor State Park, will require day-use reservations on weekends and holidays starting August 17, in an attempt to control overcrowding. Nevada State Parks is piloting the system until Oct. 13, with plans for full implementation in April 2025. Entry will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis after 10:30 a.m., subject to park capacity. Same-day reservations will be waived, but reservations made before the day of arrival will have a non-refundable $5 fee.
