Pakistan's total public debt increased by 7.3% in the first nine months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, reaching Rs67.525 trillion. The debt has grown by 372% since 2013, with external debt at $86.7 billion and domestic debt at Rs43.432 trillion. The rate of debt accumulation slowed down by 54% from Rs10 trillion in the previous fiscal year to Rs4.64 trillion at the end of March 2024, due to exchange rate stability.
