Ottawa appoints Mathieu Grondin, a Montrealer, as its first Nightlife Commissioner. Grondin, who previously founded MTL 24/24, a non-profit supporting nightlife development, is tasked with enhancing Ottawa's nightlife and reversing its reputation as a "sleepy town". The new role is part of Ottawa's Nightlife Economy Action Plan, which focuses on leisure, live entertainment, and cultural activities between 6 pm and 6 am.
