Nigeria's House of Representatives has called for intervention in the ongoing crisis within the Plateau State House of Assembly, urging the National Assembly to address the situation. The crisis occurred after the Court of Appeal nullified certificates of return for 16 sitting members and ordered INEC to issue new ones to the winners. The crisis has resulted in seven APC lawmakers not being sworn in despite meeting all legal requirements, while others have been sworn in. The House of Representatives believes this contradicts principles of fairness and justice, undermines democracy, and could pose a threat to security in the state.
