100-million-year-old fossilized bones discovered in western Queensland, Australia have been identified as belonging to a newly identified species of pterosaur, Haliskia peterseni. The anhanguerian pterosaur, identified by researchers at Curtin University, lived among dinosaurs and had a wingspan of approximately 4.6m, making it a formidable flying reptile. This discovery was made by Kronosaurus Korner museum curator, Kevin Petersen, who unearthed the remains in 2021.
