Taiwanese chip designer MediaTek is developing an Arm-based PC chip for Microsoft's Windows operating system, according to sources. This aligns with Microsoft's unveiling of AI laptops featuring Arm Holdings tech, aiming at Apple's Arm-based Mac computers & potentially challenging Intel's dominance in the PC market. The MediaTek chip is set to launch late next year, post Qualcomm's laptop chip deal expiration.
