India and Japan's navies begin the 8th annual JIMEX maritime exercise in Japan, focusing on enhancing cooperation and interoperability.

India and Japan's navies commenced the eighth edition of their bilateral maritime exercise, JIMEX 24, in Japan. The Indian Navy's stealth frigate, INS Shivalik, arrived at Yokosuka to participate in the exercise, which has been held annually since 2012. The maritime exercise aims to enhance the cooperation and interoperability between the Indian and Japanese navies, focusing on jointly honing their war-fighting skills at sea and enhancing their interoperability through complex multi-discipline operations in the surface, sub-surface, and air domains.
