The Guardian appoints Amber de Botton, former director of communications for Rishi Sunak, as its new chief communications officer. De Botton, a journalist for nearly two decades, has held leadership positions at Sky News, ITV News, and 10 Downing Street, where she oversaw UK government communications strategy. In her new role, she will report to Guardian editor-in-chief Katharine Viner and CEO Anna Bateson.
