Governor Tony Evers appointed Matthew Spence as Sheboygan County Sheriff on June 7, 2022, succeeding retiring Sheriff Cory Roeseler. Spence, with a career spanning 20 years at Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office, will complete Roeseler's term ending in January 2027. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, Spence has also pursued higher education and received the 2019 Sheboygan County Civic Achievement Award.
