Czech Republic and Germany agreed on a joint plan to purchase up to 77 Leopard 2A8 tanks, with the Czech gov't aiming to replace Soviet-era armour. This joint procurement aims to reduce costs and involve Czech industry. The Czech Republic plans to acquire 122 Leopards by 2030 at a potential cost of 52 billion Czech crowns ($2.29bn), along with CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles, to build a heavy brigade.
