Yara International, Europe's largest fertilizer maker, has opened a renewable hydrogen plant in Norway to reduce CO2 emissions in ammonia production. The 24-megawatt facility, Europe's largest water electrolysis plant, will cut Heroya's annual CO2 emissions by 5%. Yara aims to become a major player in supplying clean energy and sees clean ammonia as a solution to decarbonizing sectors like shipping, power generation, and agriculture.
