13th-century catapult shots from the 1266 siege of Kenilworth Castle have been discovered during accessibility improvements. Eight well-preserved projectiles, weighing up to 16 stone, were found near the West castle walls and are believed to have caused significant damage during King Henry III's siege of the castle during England's civil war. Archaeologists dated them based on similarities to stones discovered in the 1960s.
