Teacher at LJD Law College in Kolkata, Sanjida Qadar, resigned after allegedly being asked by college authorities to stop wearing a hijab at work. Following public outcry, college authorities claimed it was a misunderstanding and Qadar would return on June 11 after withdrawing her resignation. The authorities insisted they had never prohibited her from covering her head with clothes during working hours and respected religious sentiments.
