Kaushambi district jail in Uttar Pradesh celebrated the naming ceremony (naamkaran sanskar) of a baby born to an undertrial woman inmate, marking a first for the facility. The woman, arrested for fraud, gave birth to a baby girl 25 days prior and was shifted from the district hospital back to the jail. Jail authorities organized the ceremony, which featured traditional songs and a special meal.
