Smurfit Kappa invests €30M in Spanish sustainability projects, reducing CO2 emissions and waste.
Smurfit Kappa, Europe's largest paper packaging company, invests over €30 million into two sustainability projects in Spain. Its Sangüesa paper mill features over 12,000 solar panels, generating 50% of its energy needs and reducing CO2 emissions by 3,000 tonnes. The Nervión paper mill adopts a fully circular production process, reducing waste in landfill by 75,000 tonnes and eliminating 450,000 km of road transport per year.
