Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed as India's new Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister. With over a decade of experience in the role, Chouhan helped transform Madhya Pradesh into an agricultural powerhouse, increasing its annual agricultural growth to an average of 6.5% over the last decade. In his new role, Chouhan is expected to focus on crop diversification, agricultural infrastructure, and boosting domestic supplies of pulses, oilseeds, and cereals.
