Pakistan's National Economic Council (NEC) chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the 13th five-year National Development Plan and annual economic growth targets for financial year 2024-25. The plan aims to boost economic growth, focusing on key areas such as less developed areas' development, increasing exports, promoting small and medium industries, social protection, poverty alleviation, workforce capacity building, and addressing climate change. The meeting also discussed the performance and annual development projects for the fiscal year 2023-24 and the upcoming fiscal year 2024-25, with a significant increase in growth rate targets.
