Former De Beers CEO, Bruce Cleaver, appointed as new chairperson of gemstone miner Gemfields effective July 1. Cleaver praises Gemfields for its contribution to the coloured gemstone market as a responsible and transparent supplier. Gemfields operates the Kagem emerald mine in Zambia and the Montepuez ruby mine in Mozambique, and is valued at R3.7 billion on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
