Auckland freight company Auslink and manager fined $28k for failing biodiversity checks and transporting sea containers to unapproved locations, breaching NZ's Biosecurity Act.

Auckland freight company Auslink and manager Christopher James Manning were fined $28k for failing to complete biodiversity checks and transporting 15 sea containers to unapproved locations. The company was contracted by NZ's Ministry for Primary Industries to protect native species from unwanted pests. The Biosecurity Act states all sea containers arriving in NZ must be sent to MPI-approved facilities for inspection.
