Groundbreaking at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal marks start of nation's largest offshore wind port. The 73-acre site will serve as the operations and maintenance hub for Equinor's Empire Wind 1, a large offshore wind project delivering 810 MW of renewable energy to New York. Construction of the facility, expected to be completed by the end of 2026, will support 1,000+ construction jobs and is part of New York's commitment to develop 9,000 MW of offshore wind by 2035.
