A bogus police officer, Kundai Taruvinga (29), was arrested at a shopping centre in Highfield, Harare, after assaulting a man suspected of trading in foreign currency. The alleged accomplices escaped. The trio falsely claimed to be police officers, accused the victim of dealing in foreign currency, and assaulted him before members of the public intervened and apprehended Taruvinga. His accomplices remain at large.
