Yahsat awards Airbus $1.1bn contract to build Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5 satellites, set to launch in 2027-2028.
Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) awarded Airbus Defence and Space a $1.1bn contract to build its new geostationary telecommunications satellites, Al Yah 4 and Al Yah 5. The satellites will use the Eurostar Neo platform and have flexible payloads for in-orbit reconfiguration. They will provide secure governmental communications across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia and are expected to launch in 2027 and 2028, replacing Yahsat's existing Al Yah 1 and Al Yah 2.
