2021 Vietnam's pepper export value increases 20.6% despite volume decrease, with average export prices rising for both black and white pepper.
Vietnam's pepper export reached 493.1 million USD in the first five months of 2021, with a 13.2% decrease in volume but a 20.6% increase in value compared to the same period last year. The average export price of black pepper is 4,197 USD per ton and white pepper is 5,804 USD per ton, both up from 2020. Vietnam's pepper production is predicted to reach the lowest volume in five years at 170,000 tons.
