South Korean fabless firm FADU and US data storage company Western Digital have partnered to co-develop next-generation solid-state drive (SSD) technology, focusing on Flexible Data Placement (FDP) to optimize SSD performance, reliability, and lifespan. Demand for FDP technology, which major tech companies like Meta and Google endorse, is growing. FADU, founded in 2015, specializes in chip design for data centers and high-performance SSD controllers.
