Senate President Francis Escudero called for the expansion of the Office of the Solicitor General's (OSG) scope at their 123rd founding anniversary, urging them to be more proactive in the legislative process, constitutional issues, foreign policy, and international disputes. Escudero suggested the OSG should help shape the nation's future by broadening its responsibilities beyond its traditional role as the government's chief legal defender.
