Seatrium and GE Vernova win contract for a 2-gigawatt HVDC transmission system in the Netherlands, part of TenneT's offshore wind energy strategy.
Seatrium and GE Vernova have won a third contract from TenneT for a 2-gigawatt HVDC electric offshore transmission system in the Netherlands. This project, part of a five-year Framework Cooperation Agreement, supports TenneT's goal of connecting 40 GW of offshore wind energy in the German and Dutch North Sea. The system serves the Nederwiek 2 offshore wind farm and is expected to start in June 2024, with commissioning by 2031.
