Reliance Power repays Rs 800 crore debt to banks, becoming debt-free on a standalone basis.

Reliance Power has become debt-free on a standalone basis by repaying its outstanding debts of approximately Rs 800 crore to banks such as IDBI, ICICI, Axis, and DBS. The company achieved this through the sale of development rights for a 1,200 MW hydro-electric project in Arunachal Pradesh and a 45 MW wind energy project in Maharashtra. Reliance Power has an operating capacity of 5,900 MW, including the 3,960 MW Sasan UMPP and 1,200 MW Rosa Thermal Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh.
