Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, a twin volcano in Flores, Indonesia, erupted on June 9th, ejecting ash up to 800 meters high. The Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Centre raised the alert to Level III (Siaga) and advised residents to stay 3 km away from the eruption center and avoid certain directions due to potential lava flow risks. The Geological Agency observed firelight during the eruption and reported increased volcanic activity since May 26th.
