Max Scherzer made a 4-inning, scoreless rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock after offseason surgery for a herniated disk.

Max Scherzer, Texas Rangers' right-hander, struck out five and retired 12 of 14 batters in his long-delayed second rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock after offseason surgery for a herniated disk. He threw four scoreless innings before exiting after an eight-pitch walk. Scherzer's first rehab start was on April 24, but the second was delayed due to right thumb soreness, later identified as a nerve issue affecting his right triceps.
