Karnataka balanced energy demand during peak summer months with renewable and non-renewable sources, grid management, and power swaps with Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
Karnataka managed its energy demand during peak summer months by balancing renewable and non-renewable energy sources, increased generation capacity, efficient grid management, and demand-side initiatives. The state swapped power with Uttar Pradesh (300-600MW) from Oct 2023-May, and Punjab (500MW) round-the-clock from Nov 2023-May. These exchanges will be returned from June 16-Sept 30.
