Jayant Chaudhary's Rashtriya Lok Dal party aligns with BJP-led NDA, and he joins PM Modi's government as a Union minister.

Jayant Chaudhary, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) party chief and grandson of former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, has aligned his party with the BJP-led NDA. After the Centre awarded his grandfather the Bharat Ratna, Chaudhary took the oath as a Union minister of state (independent charge) in PM Modi's government. The RLD secured two Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh and Chaudhary is expected to join Modi Cabinet 3.0.
