Gambia reopens border with Senegal temporarily to allow delivery of cement held up for weeks, addressing domestic market requirements. The tax on trucks carrying 30t of cement from Senegal was increased in April, causing disruptions in supply. The government has clarified that this one-time gesture will not alter or lift current import measures for bagged cement, which will be strictly enforced once the backlog is resolved.
