Former Education Minister Tan Sri Musa Mohamad, 81, passed away on June 8 due to multiple myeloma (blood cancer). He was the first non-politician to hold the Education Minister post (1999-2004) and also served as former vice-chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia. He held various other positions, including president of the International Organisation of Ministers of Education (2011-2003).
