VP Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's empathy for lepers was highlighted by Weija Leprosarium's Resident Director, Father Andrew Campbell, at a book launch in Accra. Father Campbell praised Bawumia for shaking hands with everyone, even lepers, when others refuse to greet them. He also shared a personal story of Bawumia visiting the leprosarium during Christmas and embracing a young community member.
