The Virgin Islands Premier, Dr. Natalio Wheatley, highlighted the shared vulnerability of small islands at the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4). He called on UN members to prioritize climate financing and help small island states meet the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference, hosted by Antigua & Barbuda, focused on raising awareness about the challenges faced by small states and their reliance on external aid for survival and sovereignty in the global arena.
