2021 North Bay-Mattawa Canoe Race resumed with 105 paddlers, retracing Voyageurs' route and featuring 12 categories of competition.

The North Bay-Mattawa Canoe Race made a comeback, drawing 105 paddlers in 59 canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. After being cancelled the previous year, the historic race retraced the Voyageurs' route, covering lakes, rivers, fast-moving water, and 12 portages. The race returned with support from sponsors such as Investors Group, and included 12 categories of competition, attracting participants from across Ontario and beyond.
