A young male board rider was injured at Nobbys Beach, Newcastle East on June 9 and taken to the hospital after being thrown from his board at around 10:45 am. Paramedics took spinal precautions, but the cause of the accident and the rider's injuries remain unknown. Lifeguards and paramedics provided care at the scene before the rider was transported to John Hunter Hospital for further assessment.
