Commerce Ministry plans to request additional funds for startups in the upcoming Budget, expected in July, to promote innovation in India. The seed fund scheme, established in 2021 with a Rs 945 crore corpus, will end in 2025, prompting the ministry to consider proposing a similar new scheme. The initial scheme provided financial support to startups for proof of concept, prototypes, product trials, market entry, and commercialization.
