The Freedom Festival's Cardboard Boat Regatta returned to Cedar Rapids after a 14-year hiatus, drawing hundreds of spectators at Robbins Lake. Over 30 teams competed using boats made solely of cardboard, with awards for fastest boats, creativity, patriotism, and best sinking. The event is part of Cedar Rapids' Fourth of July celebrations, with other Freedom Festival activities planned throughout July.
