49-year-old Steven McDonnell, a crane driver, has been sent forward for trial, accused of causing €2m worth of damage during an arson attack on a former pub in Dublin earmarked for homeless accommodation. The Shipwright Pub on Thorncastle Street, Ringsend, caught fire on New Year's Eve. McDonnell was charged in March with causing damage to the former pub by fire and faces trial at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
