2024's 5th polio case confirmed in Pakistan: A 2-year-old child in Quetta, Balochistan province, was diagnosed with paralysis and later died due to complications. The Pakistani Health Ministry revealed the case on June 8, stating that samples from the child and family members confirmed the presence of wild poliovirus type 1. This year, four cases have been identified in Balochistan and one from Sindh province.
